Farrier Certification with the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association


Farrier Certification


  • A Student upon graduation has the opportunity to receive a certification as an Apprentice Farrier.

  • After a year's work experience, he/she will be able to move up to Journeyman I 

  • After three years of work experience advance to Journeyman II.

  • Within seven years he/she could advance to Master Farrier.

   The certification is provided by the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association. The BWFA is the only farrier association that allows graduating students to certify directly from  farrier school. Shoeing experience prior to attending  farrier school is considered when certifying.


Although certification is not required to join the Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association.  They accept farriers, horse-owners, companies, and veterinarians. They have an open membership policy.


   The Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association is currently the largest farrier association in the world. The BWFA offers students a discount if they join upon graduating from a Master Educator School and tested by a Master Educator and BWFA TESTER.


$200 Certification Fee is not included in Tuition Cost






 


The dues amounts vary from year to year. The school can inform you of the updated information on your first day of class or by calling in advance.


The BWFA Membership dues are not included in school tuition fees. You are asked to make the payment directly to the BWFA. A Master Educator School is not allowed to charge additional testing fees to take the test, your money goes directly to the BWFA.

  • You will be offered the opportunity to take a certification test provided by the

Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association, Inc.


  • This school is a testing facility for the BWFA.

  • Your annual dues are paid directly to the BWFA and not to the school and IS NOT part of your tuition payments.

  • This school does not charge any additional fees for taking the test.

  • We highly recommend that all six and twelve week students seek certification to begin their professional farrier career.
